I never did hear back from tech support after a couple of emails, but no matter. The next day, with exactly the same configuration of everything, the computer won't recognize the Cricut.ĭoes anyone know if there is some kind of feedback possible between the Cricut and USB port that would 'poison' the port and stop it from working? It's just too weird that it commits suicide right after it has been working perfectly. ![]() I get excited, but then discover it was only a one shot deal. This has allowed me to update the firmware a couple of times and do some test cuts using SCAL. The very weird thing about my problem is that I HAVE had everything working from a couple of different USB ports. The computer still can't recognize the Cricut, even though I have done everything possible within my knowledge, and tried talanhart's suggestion about uninstalling and reinstalling drivers for the USB serial port and USB serial controller. How long does it usually take to hear back? I still haven't heard from Tech Support except for the initial email about plugging it into the computer ports themselves and updating the firmware, and it's been four or five days. Help? I'm out of ideas and am so very disappointed that I can't use SCAL. Uninstalled and reinstalled Design Studio Rebooting in all different ways - with Cricut powered on, Cricut powered off, plugged in, etc.ĭifferent computer running on WIndows XP (my computer has Vista 32 bit) and all of the above scenarios Here's what I've tried so far:ĭifferent USB cables just in case the cable was defectiveĭifferent USB ports, but all on the computer itself When I tried it again, the computer would not acknowledge the Cricut. And then I turned the computer off and didn't scrapbook for a few days. Everything worked beautifully and I was so excited. Earlier this week, I downloaded DS, upgraded the firmware on the Cricut from 1.0 to 3.2, downloaded the SCAL demo and purchased the software. My computer will NOT recognize that my Cricut is plugged into the USB port and turned on, so I am unable to use SCAL, or even the trial Design Studio to try to update the firmware again. I'm hoping someone will have some suggestions, I have been waiting a couple of days to hear from tech support. it has to be SCAL as the plotter is working with other software.Hi there everybody, I am brand new and I am at my wit's end. SCAL is sending wrong information or to wrong port, but how if I can see the correct path to the device.ģ. USB serial driver is designed for Mac OS up to 10.7, however I wouldn't blame it entirely because as I said plotter works just fine with SignCutĢ. ![]() Even contacting the seller, manufacturer and SCAL support didn't resolve my problem so far.ġ. I've been dealing with this problem since I bought the plotter (over a week ago) and to this day I can't use it. I dont want to use SignCut for two reasons: I kinda like SCAL and don't like SignCut and I just paid for full licence for SCAL. The plotter works in SIgnCut software under the same settings. In the latest edition SCAL I can see the path of the plotter in Mac in /dev/cu.usbserial. Installed FTDI Mac USB Driver in 32bit and 64bit version (although I think there is no difference there, looking at the size of the files) Reinstalled Sure Cuts A Lot many times and in many versionsĢ. What happens: Sure Cuts A Lot 3 (up to date version) sends the file to the plotter, then confirms successful operation and nothing happens.ġ. I can't get Sure Cuts A Lot to work with my Ramtin UK720 / RedSail 720c plotter on Mac Mountain Lion 10.8.
